In the city of Monforte de Lemos, one of the stages of the “Camiño de Inverno” ends.

It begins in Ponferrada (capital of Bierzo) as a fork of the French Way and it is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful and unknown Jacobean Routes that was declared by the Xunta de Galicia as an OFFICIAL ROUTE of Pilgrimage to Compostela in 2016 .

Between Roman mines, vineyards and unique natural landscapes, its route runs through what is considered to be the natural entrance to Galicia from the plateau, following the course of the river Sil, taking advantage of a terrain that is clearly favorable from an orographic and climatic point of view. .

It is the only route that crosses the four Galician provinces and allows us to enjoy the incomparable landscapes that draw "Las Medulas" or "La Ribeira Sacra" where the largest concentration of rural Romanesque in Europe is located and whose capital is located in our city, Monforte de Lemos

The city of Monforte de Lemos is 135 kilometers from Santigo de Compostela and has a Pilgrim Service office, making it the Start of the Stage  and starting here the Way is officially accredited "La Compostelana", credential of the Pilgrim to Compostela
